Dr. Mullaney is a Gerontological Nurse Practitioner and an executive nurse leader with expertise in caring for older adults and passions to support, mentor and develop nurses and to drive health policy initiatives. I advocate on behalf of vulnerable older adults and the nursing profession, and build individual and organizational coalitions to harness the collective voices in support of key clinical and policy imperatives. I understand the complexities of federal and state policy priorities, identify and execute learning and development opportunities, and work through new and established relationships to improve health and achieve health equity. My background in geriatrics, clinical operations, nursing workforce and health policy make me a key asset to your organization.

Building the Nurse Workforce

Dr. Mullaney leverages innovative recruitment strategies, robust academic partnerships, and novel recognition initiatives to build a strong pipeline of nurses and nurse practitioners. Her experience on the American Association of Colleges of Nursing’s Board of Directors and Essentials Task Force Member (AACN, 2021) provides the framework to hire competent nurses.     Dr. Mullaney works with inter-professional teams to build the clinical and business acumen needed to provide high quality, cost-effective care to older adults. Through exceptional organizational agility, planning skills and achievement drive, Sue provides provides one-to-one mentoring, fosters manager growth, and executive development.

    Dr. Mullaney pulls from over 25 years of experience as a clinical leader. She has managed teams up to 3,000 with exceptional quality and cost outcomes. Documented policies and procedures, based on core values, structure a clinical operations team to focus on measurable business objectives. Sue excels at providing real time, direct and honest feedback to ensure the highest level of compliance and quality.

    Geriatric Expertise

    Dr. Mullaney holds board certification as a Gerontological Nurse Practitioner as well as a Gerontological Specialist. She brings knowledge and experience in providing clinical education focused on older adults with special attention to geriatric syndromes. In addition, she appreciates the details of Medicare, Medicaid and Value-Based Care, and can provide operational insight into building revenue and improving quality.

    Dr. Mullaney drives practice and policy initiatives that galvanize and empower nurses to advocate for improved care delivery among our diverse, aging population. Working individually and as part of various coalitions, Sue promotes full practice authority for all nurses. Her extensive volunteer work serving on Boards, partnering with professional organizations, engaging in national coalitions, and networking with other nurse leaders expands your business relationships.
